In these trying times, finding opportunities for joy is more important than ever - because joy itself is a form of resistance - and the Equality Community Center is thrilled to invite you to participate in our first-ever Queer Winter Weekend.
Our events committee has designed this special weekend to help us all break out of the winter doldrums of Maine! Queer Winter Weekend brings us together to laugh, dance, celebrate our diversity, appreciate nature, lift up queer performers and artists, and most importantly connect with community. We also hope you’ll use this as a time to learn more about the ECC. And allies, you are all welcome to join in the fun too!
Special thanks to our incredible partners and sponsors for making this joyful weekend possible.
We are proud to lift up the Aloft Hotel on the Portland Waterfront as our Hotel Partner for the 2026 Queer Winter Weekend. Use this link to get a discount on a room reservation.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support the ECC's programming and operations as we work to meet the evolving needs of our community in the following ways:
provide support programs and services for the residents of Equality Commons
expand our services to provide mental health and crisis support services
develop a case management program to help navigate community resources
renovate our kitchen and expand our food programs to provide more warm, nutritious meals
create a new youth lounge to house an afterschool drop-in program for LGBTQ+ teens
