Join us on the 4th Monday of each month as we get together to discuss a Radical Read! For September we will be reading The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer. As Indigenous scientist and author of Braiding Sweetgrass, Robin Wall Kimmerer harvests serviceberries alongside the birds, she considers the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy. How, she asks, can we learn from Indigenous wisdom and the plant world to reimagine what we value most? Our economy is rooted in scarcity, competition, and the hoarding of resources, and we have surrendered our values to a system that actively harms what we love. This short work takes a hard look at how our economic structures have driven schisms between us and nature and between one another. Let's think of alternatives together and create a better, more equitable future!

Snacks and drinks are provided!

We will also decide on next month’s radical read at the meeting, so feel free to come with some suggestions!

Let’s all work on class consciousness together today to strive for a better tomorrow. Happy reading, and hope to see you there!
