As our programs, partnerships, and spaces continue to grow, we’re investing in the people and systems that make this work possible behind the scenes.

That means strengthening our team, supporting volunteer leadership, improving how we operate, and ensuring our spaces remain welcoming, functional, and responsive to community needs. A stronger foundation allows us to show up more consistently and sustainably for the people who rely on ECC every day.

We’re committed to growing programs and services that reflect the diverse experiences, identities, and realities of LGBTQ+ people across Maine. That includes creating more opportunities for connection, support, learning and care across generations and lived experiences.

As needs continue to evolve, we will continue listening closely and adapting alongside our community.

The ECC exists because of the people who believe in this community and invest in it, whether that’s through volunteering, donations, partnerships and more. 

Over the next three years, we want to deepen those relationships by creating more opportunities for people who want to meaningfully connect with our mission and see the impact of their contributions. 

We’re committed to building a culture of generosity rooted in community belonging. 

At a time when LGBTQ+ communities are facing increasing hostility, misinformation and political attacks, safety is more important than ever.

The ECC is committed to being a space where people feel welcome, protected and supported. We recognize that safety includes physical safety, emotional safety, digital security and community care. 

Over the next three years, we will continue strengthening our preparedness, response planning and safety practices so our community can gather with confidence and support each other during times of uncertainty.

We want every LGBTQ+ person in Maine to know there is a place for them here at the ECC.

Over the next three years, we will continue growing ECC’s visibility, strengthening partnerships, and reaching people who may not yet know these spaces and resources exist. We are especially committed to deepening relationships with immigrant communities, BIPOC organizations, disability justice organizations, and other mission-aligned partners across Maine.

We believe stronger communities are built through collaboration, shared resources, and showing up for one another.
