Join us for Rainbow Reels, a monthly movie watch party in collaboration with EqualityMaine, where we screen exciting films, enjoy great company, and build community! Whether you’re a film buff or just looking for a fun, relaxed afternoon, this is a great space to connect, share snacks and drinks, and discuss films with other LGBTQ+ older adults. Attendees will collectively decide between three movies at the start of the event. All older LGBTQ+ adults are welcome to attend!
We are excited to share that this month we will be screening THERE ARE THINGS TO DO, an award winning documentary about world-renowned LGBTQ+ activist and leader Urvashi Vaid that has resonated with audiences at film festivals around the world.
The film, recorded Q&A with Urvashi’s partner / comedian / activist / author Kate Clinton, and film discussion guide is being made available through CenterLink (lgbtqcenters.org) as part of an LGBTQ+ Centers screening initiative to create more awareness about Urvashi Vaid & her important movement leading work consistent with Urvashi’s focus on building community. For accessibility, subtitles will be turned on during the movie. There is no cost to attend, and free popcorn and drinks will be provided.
