About Fun Home
Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling graphic memoir, Fun Home is a groundbreaking and deeply personal musical that explores family, identity, and self-discovery. Told through a series of nonlinear memories, the story follows Alison at three different ages as she reflects on her childhood growing up in a funeral home, her coming out as a lesbian, and her evolving understanding of her father—a complex man grappling with his own secrets.
Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Fun Home is acclaimed for its emotional depth, innovative storytelling, and hauntingly beautiful score.
Content Advisory & Runtime: While it's deeply moving and beautifully done, Fun Home contains mature language themes including: depictions of sexual experiences, verbal abuse, homophobia, mental health struggles, family dysfunction, grooming of minors, and suicide. This performance is recommended for ages 13 and older with parent/guardian discretion. Runtime is approximately 100 minutes with no intermission.
