Sponsored by: Equality Community Center

Join us on the 4th Monday of each month as we get together to discuss a Radical Read - snacks and drinks are provided!

June’s book selection: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin

"The Left Hand of Darkness was among the first books in the genre now known as feminist science fiction and is described as the most famous examination of androgyny in science fiction. A major theme of the novel is the effect of sex and gender on culture and society, explored in particular through the inhabitants of an alien planet who are ambisexual, with no fixed sex; which has a strong influence on the culture of the planet. Come with us to explore foreign planets and new perspectives on sex and gender!"

We will also decide on next month’s radical read at the meeting, so feel free to come with some suggestions!

Let’s all work on class consciousness together today to strive for a better tomorrow. Happy reading, and hope to see you there!
