Join us to learn about queer Maine history, meet some of the queer orgs who have been supporting LGBTQ+ communities in Maine for decades, and find out how you can contribute to the LGBTQ+ Collection of the Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine at USM.

Also, University of Southern Maine faculty member, Wendy Chapkis, will share info about the Querying the Past oral history project and showing the 15 minute short film “Bar Stories from Queer Maine” that documents the history of LGBTQ+ bars and nightclubs in Maine.

Additionally, attendees will be able to see the final projects from an oral history art project that Casco Bay High School students conducted with LGBTQ+ elders.

The ECC, EqualityMaine, MaineTransNet and Portland Outright will have tables set up as well!
